Before The Walt Disney Company, Walt Disney created his own cartoon company, called Laugh-O-Gram Pictures, focusing on cartoons based on fairy tales.

Fleischer Studios is Founded
May 1929

Fleischer Studios, the company responsible for bringing us Betty Boop, Popeye, Superman, and numerous other cartoons, is founded by brothers Max and Dave Fleischer in May 1929.

The First Looney Tunes Test Cartoon is Produced
May 1929

Bosko the Talk-Ink Kid is produced by Harman and Ising as a test cartoon to be shown to potential employers. It isn't officially released until 2000 in a Cartoon Network Movie Special called Toonheads: The Lost Cartoons.

The face of classic toons has changed, and you are now looking at the new and improved ToonJet! As you can see, the entire site has undergone a major overhaul visually. Functionality has also been improved. You will also find new sections, including the ToonJet Classic Cartoon Blog, where I will delve into the depths of cartoon history. I might also display new toons with some info on it, if the mood carries me to do so. Another new section is the Forum, where you can share your love for the art form.

So, stick around, lads and lassies, because there are lots of new things in store just for you here, only on ToonJet! :D
